Cases in which being friendly and being hostile each have positive and negative effects on business
In one video, “好意的 Ko-i-te-ki or ‘Favoritism’ (also where the word agreeableness is used) is negative for business success.” The statement was made as follows.
好意的 Ko-i-te-ki
〘Formal verb 〙The way in which one tries to favor a person by giving him or her the benefit of one’s position or way of thinking. In addition, a feeling of fondness toward a certain person or thing.
“Oh, is that so?” I thought. The reason is because, I think I am a positive person, and I hope that being positive will help me succeed in my business. (I also feel in a subtle way that having less favoritism is better for business.)

The opposite of favorable is hostile, and I asked open AI about cases where both approaches would work positively and negatively in business.
The answers to all of these questions made a lot of sense to me. I felt that the positive aspects, especially on the favorable side, were directly related to our strengths, while the negative aspects could be our weaknesses. In fact, many things comes to my mind.
On the other hand, the negative aspects of an hostile environment were something I was concerned about and wanted to avoid. The positive aspects in this area didn’t resonate with me. This is because the word “hostile” itself contains a negative element. Perhaps a better comparison could be made by using a different word.
However, what I learned here was that ‘favorable’ and ‘hostile’ both have their own advantages and disadvantages. And what’s more is you need to remember about ‘balancing’.
This was a new discovery for me. I told my team members that I might take an ‘hostile’ approach in the future. Just like that, I said “From now on, I’m going to try to take an hostile approach.” I think I will try to use it.
