The great thing about working remotely is that you can do radio exercises whenever you feel like it
Hello! Do you guys do radio exercises? I forgot to do it again today! That’s no good isn’t it.
Excuse me for being so direct.
I am Yumi Akutsu from mgn .Inc. I live in a place that is just outside the Tokyo metropolitan area, and I usually work from home. My hobbies include video games (currently, I’m really into a game called “13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim”), manga, and my favorite Bourbon snack is “Balm Roll”.
Anyway, today I would like to do my best to tell you one of the advantages of remote work!
The great thing about remote work is that you can do radio exercises whenever you feel like it
So, I have already started to talk about my title – how fast. What can I say, you can already tell that I have no skill in writing. (I could tell you one more thing about me).
Anyway so, as you know, what I wanted to share is already in the title, “The great thing about working remotely is that I can do anything whenever I feel like it”. Of course, there are times that it’s not convenient, such as during a meeting or when I need to do some coding. However, basically as long as the timing is appropriate or when it matches my work, I am free to sing, dance, or do radio exercises without any worries that anyone can watch me.
Of course, you can still do radio exercises when you’re at work…
Before working at mgn, I used to commute to work. The company had a routine of doing radio exercises around 3:00 p.m. as a way to relax, and which was rare for me. Yes, you can do radio exercises even if you are not at home. However, the timing is already decided so sometimes the exercise would come while I was in the middle of concentrating on my work. Other times, I was simply not in the mood for it. Also, since I was surrounded by others, I couldn’t be either overly serious or taken it too lightly. It was so difficult to do exercises even when I’m at a good mood of 100%. So, even though I thought that radio exercise was by itself a very good thing to do, I was somehow spending my life with stress.

Staying away from radio exercises for a while
When I started working in mgn, I actually commuted to the co working space instead of working from home since the internet connection at my home was very slow. Obviously, it is indeed impossible to do radio exercises in a co working space. However, I was not that stressful knowing that I couldn’t exercise.
When I found RingFit, I realized the benefits of sneaking around and exercising alone
What do you think happened to me when I had no exercise routine and could empty a bag of “balm roll” in 10 minutes with a big smile on my face? Yes, I gained weight. As you can imagine, if I don’t do at least one form of exercise, I’m on the brink of my adulthood. During this time, a fitness game called “Ring Fit” was released for Switch and I bought it. I’ll spare you the rest of the story about RingFit, but I was so addicted to it that I began to spend my evenings exercising while getting through the game.
Then, when I wondered why I could continue with RingFit, I realized that I could do it whenever I felt like it, and since no one could see me, I didn’t care how tiny and unattractive it looked. I can do it whenever I feel like it, and since no one can see me, I don’t care how tiny and unsightly it is.
Of course, the fact that Nintendo is doing everything they can to make exercising fun is a big factor. But I also think the fact that I could do it alone in my own pace probably suited me (furthermore, as part of the game’s flow, you will get some kind of reward in return, which is a huge point for me).
Back to radio exercises
I hope I have conveyed the points about having the freedom to exercise alone, whenever you want, according to your mood and physical condition.

But you might ask, why radio exercises? There are plenty of other exercises.
I remember the movements, so all I need is some music and I can do it.
It takes only 3 minutes of your time and can be done quickly.
If you want to exercise more, just continue with the second part.
Good for unwinding from desk work as there are many active stretching movements.
The movements are designed and performed by different age groups and people. So, anyone can do this exercise. For example, for children or the elderly, there is a specific movement that minimize the stress on joints and muscles, thus less chance of injury.
I would recommend radio exercises during remote work for these and other reasons.
Conclusion
I have linked a video of the radio exercises below. If you’d like, please try it after reading this. It might help you loosen up and feel a little more relaxed.
Finally, if you have any easy and recommended exercise like radio exercises, I’d be delighted to know.
